Theological level of reflection...

I've recently been contemplating on the level of theological reflection - and further more, the kind of theology represented in evangelical churches.
I recently read an article promoting theological reflection rather than methodological reflection. This probably needs further elaboration:
Methodological theology presents the "theory" of e.g mission or ecclesiology so to speak.
Whereas -
Theological reflection gathers information in Scripture, the history of the Church and creates methodology as a result of "seeking God's will and part-take in missio dei.
I must say that in reading the writings of e.g the Orthodox Church I've been quite amazed by the "level of theological reflection" by "just" the clergy... I'm utterly amazed by the way that they tend to apprehend an overwhelming knowledge and show an almost endless depth, longing for depth in the nativity of their faith and tend to find some sort of meta narrative for their life in Christ.
I hope that you my dear reader (if there even are any?!), will look up some of these brothers and sisters, and try to have your horizon (especially the evangelicals) broadened.
As a post scriptum I'm not saying that the Orthodox christians are smarter or wiser, but in the light of my own lack of theological reflection and tendency to seek theory (method) rather than searching Scripture and history and thereby knowing God, I'm hoping that you will see what "the fuzz" is about for you own sake and hopefully reach a deeper relationship with the Lord of this world!

Humbly
Jarle
